Battery Warning PRX v0.1 Released

Picture
t’s hard to believe this hasn’t happened sooner; at least I’m not aware of any similar plugin… So simple and effective: Zack’s Battery Warning PRX plugin. Load it and as soon as your battery hits 10% or less, you’ll be notified with an unobtrusive message, as per the screenshot.

attery Warning PRX is great, as you may not always notice the blinking power LED, especially if your fat hands, like mine, are always covering it.

Battery Warning PRX v0.1 Features:

  • Works in VSH & GAME.
  • Displays on screen scrolling message when battery charge level is 10% or less.
  • Message is small and unobtrusive.

PSNABLER Final Release !~

Picture
Rewritten in a modular-type fashion is PSNabler Final by RedHate & Smokin. No more plugin updates, unless of course it’s to correct any core bugs. What do you think of that, Taki? ;)

One more time: PSNabler enables PSN access for select games when using a hacked or custom firmware loaded PSP.

Game patches are now distributed and loaded separately from the plugin itself. There’s also a new installer app to ensure things are installed and configured correctly. You can always fetch the latest game patches http://aiolab.com/psnabler/  . Download the .bin file and copy it to your ms0:/seplugins/psnabler directory. It’s that simple.

Also, for all those peeps experiencing problems, it’s been noted that WPA-TKIP encrypted networks do not work with this plugin; try WEP instead.

Note: uninstall/remove any earlier versions of PSNabler before using PSNabler Final.

PSNABLER V6 Released; Support for more games

Picture
RedHate and Smokin return with another smokin’ red-hot release: PSNABLER V6… Get it while the going is good; Sony may put a damper on this any day now. Or maybe not… Who knows?

Anyway, what’s good? V6 enables PSN support (on your hacked PSP) for the following titles:

  • MotorStorm (UCES-01250)
  • Rock Band Unplugged (ULUS-10418)
  • Thexder Neo (NPUH-10019)
You know the rest… Little Big Planet, Resistance, PixelJunk, and Syphon Filter Combat Ops. Find the corresponding game codes on the download landing page.

If you know a PSN-enabled game not on the list, check out and leave a message at the aiolab.com forums. Ask politely and maybe, just maybe, they’ll patch it up. They’re good guys over there.

Popsloader Extractor v0.02

Picture
Xenon with a little something to help get your PSOne/POPs emulation game on… No more digging tediously through firmware dumps trying to locate the necessary files. Popsloader Extractor simplifies the whole POPs preparation process.
Popsloader Extractor v0.02 will decrypt and extract the required PRX modules from Sony firmware EBOOTs; it will also copy these files to the proper directory on your memory stick.Download, rename, and copy to your memory stick root. Each firmware EBOOT should be named <VERSION>.PBP.

For example 3.52 becomes 352.PBP, 4.01 becomes 401.PBP, and so on… Once you’ve done that, load Popsloader Extractor and you’re all set.

PSNABLER V4

December 21, 2009 Get back on the PlayStation Network with PSNABLER V4… Wait, hold up, slow your roll — don’t jump to the download just yet… For the moment it seems only Resistance, Little Big Planet, and Syphon Filter Combat Ops are “psnabled.” In other words: only these games work; store access and other games remain blocked. So if you aren’t sporting any of the above titles, you don’t need PSNABLER.

I’m not sure who’s responsible for the awesomeness that is PSNABLER; if it’s RedHate or COLDFUSION, or perhaps they’re the same… Whatever the case: props from PSP-Hacks. Nice work.

JPCSP (Java PSP Emulator) Update: Progress Made w/ God of War *Updated*

    Picture
Update: Another noteworthy revision — revision 1280… And that adds two more playable titles:

    1. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo
    2. Fired Up
    3. Expect an official Christmas release soon.
Normally we steer clear of posting unofficial JPCSP builds; however, this time ’round — official or unofficial — I feel it definitely deserves some love… Newcomers know this: JPCSP is an open source attempt at emulating the PlayStation Portable under Java. Some games are in fact playable.

And as of revision 1273, JPCSP now reaches the God of War menu. The menu! No game play yet; the point is it’s progress and damn good progress at that. So while we wait for the next official JPCSP release, you may care to experiment with rev. 1277.

PSP Mario: The New Worlds v0.02

It’s a work in progress; that said, there isn’t much here in terms of playability, but I gotta respect dan369’s effort behind PSP Mario: The New Worlds… Think of this as a tech demo powered by MK2k and InsertWittyName’s PGE — the Lua Phoenix Game Engine… And while you’re at it, have a look at the source too — maybe you’ll learn something.

PSP Mario is the obvious attempt at cloning the original Super Mario Bros. And game play is certainly faster than what the video would lead you to believe. RemoteJoyLite slows things down a bit.

Furthermore, in its current state, there is only one playable level with no brick-busting abilities or power-ups. Remember: it’s a demo. So if you’re lookin’ to get your Mario game on to the fullest, you best download NesterJ or FCEU-PSP and search for the appropriate rom.
